When did we get MS Office? I can’t remember.

Bueno. You’re probably wondering (or not) why I haven’t posted anything here for several weeks. It’s because I prefer twitter nowadays. But that doesn’t mean I’d be deleting my LJ account. Not yet, at least.

So anyway, we bought a new printer last week, and I super love it! Actually, I don’t think it’s appropriate to call it ‘printer’ because it can also scan pictures and do photocopy. I’m embarrassed to admit that it was the first time I’ve heard of an x-in-1 multifunction machine, lol. The last time we bought a printer was like 7 or 8 years ago, that explains why I was surprised when my friend told me about this Canon 3-in-1 printer. But since I don’t really like Canon, I decided to buy HP. We are in very good terms, HP and I.

Okay, so I’ve tried the scanner first. Got excited that I've planned to scan all of our photo albums, but alas! The photo albums are now missing and I've only salvaged a few pictures. :-( Stolen? Misplaced? Got wet during Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy) and were thrown away? Must ask mom.

Which language(s) do you currently speak? If you could learn only one other language, what would you choose, and why?

First question listed was submitted by [info]stormvoel. (Follow-up questions, if any, may have been added by LiveJournal.)

I speak Tagalog, my native language (or dialect??), and English, the second language of almost all Filipinos. Let’s see, I want to learn either Japanese or Spanish. Once upon a time I self-studied Nihongo because I was a big fan of animé, but not anymore. I can still read hiragana, a bit of katakana and kanji though. But anyway, now I want to learn Spanish just so I can understand Los Hombres de Paco, tee hee.(Darn it, why did they have to kill Silvia???)

On a different note, my location currently reads Philippines, Tejeros. Where the heck is Tejeros?! I'm in Makati, yo! Look it up LJ! :-o

If a friend or relative makes a racist or homophobic remark, do you tend to confront them or let it slide? Are you more likely to confront them if it offends you directly or someone else who seems reluctant to speak up?

I usually just frown and say "why are you being so racist/homophobic"? I'm more likely to confront if somebody else is offended.

Second day of our sportsfest today, but I didn’t go despite the fact that I signed up for Track & Field. I’ve only gotten an average of 6 hours of sleep this week, so I don’t have much energy left to play and cheer. In other words, sleep trumps sex. Errrrr.. I mean sleep trumps sportsfest.

Hah! Found you! ♫ I finally found what I’ve been looking for ♫

The Trainer and Sharapova )

RUSSIANS FAILED. Nadia Petrova, another famous Russian, has been ousted by Melanie Oudin. Good job, kiddo. It’s cool that she has a twin sister like me, but only they’re fraternal. Her twin must be really, really, nervous than anyone in their family. It’s a twin thing.

Anywho, better luck next matches my fellow Russians (yes, I have dual citizenship. I’m half-Irish, half-Russian now and I've changed my name to Colleen Reinova, lol! How I wish. What's up with their surnames, always ending with "va" except for Safina)

Our company’s Sportsfest is coming up. Since there’s no bowling, I joined Track and Field instead. Not a good idea. I just found out that I have hyperthyroidism that has been causing me some dizziness spell, weight loss and palpitations.

Maria Sharapova, the 22 year-old Russian, former world #1 and 2006 US Open Champ, lost to the 17 year-old unseeded American, Melanie Oudin, on the third round of the US Open much to my dismay. It was a pretty close game, but I believe the greatest factor why Masha lost was because of her stunning 21 double faults. She practically put 4 games in a box, wrapped and put a ribbon on it, and handed it to Oudin! It was really agonizing for me to watch her serve. She's clearly not yet her old self after that shoulder surgery and a 10-month break.

Melanie, on the other hand, had only 5 double faults. Nothing great about her serve, but she can run! Man, this American already kicked 3 Russians out. Let's see if she could take Petrova out. Unlike Sharapova, Petrova doesn't seem to be suffering from that many double faults. But who knows, Maria won her first title on Wimbledon at the age of 17. Why can’t Oudin do it?

I hate to see Maria exit on the third round, but it was time. See you on Australian Open next year. Please work on your serve and take good care! I still love you!! ♥♥♥ Mwah, mwah!

And by the way, thanks for calling a medical timeout on the third set, Maria. You have given me a femslash fantasy right there with that cool medical trainer ♥, lol. I’m so bad. Where's Camilla Belle anyway? Those crazy girls on Mamilla board have nothing to chew on.

♫ What would my mama do..... uh-oh, uh-oh. ♫

I’ve already used 5 sick leaves for this month alone; as a result, I’m waaaay behind my work right now. And then of course, there’s training calibration to worry about. It’s been more than a decade since I used PowerPoint, people!

Bueno. Watched “Up” this afternoon, and as usual Disney/Pixar did not disappoint. We’re going to watch District 9 next week.

It was raining the whole Sunday afternoon, so by the time we got out of the house to hit the mall, waters were everywhere. Like, above ankle high water, so it was impossible not to get your feet wet even if you're wearing shoes (unless you're wearing boots).

But thanks to a kind taxi driver, he offered us to ride on his taxi for free, just so we can avoid crossing a very flooded street and wet my Chuck's any further. Bless you kind sir.

When we arrived at the mall, I checked the movie schedules and was dumbfounded to see that My Sister's Keeper was already on theaters. I was like “Fuck! I thought this movie was moved to, I dunno, August? Like what they did to Up? It's not part of my plan to watch a movie today!!” But yeah, we watched the movie anyway. Before that, we played Guitar Hero Arcade for the first time in Timezone. It's true, what they say. It will definitely rape your wallet. It costs 25 php per player, and only allows you to play 1 song!

Back to My Sister's Keeper, well, I liked the ending better in the movie than the book. It did not make me cry, however. It almost did, but nothing like in the book where I cried tons. It made me smile though to hear other people sniffling while watching the movie. XD

Gonna watch The Proposal next week. So much for saving money. :-I

Congratulations to Roger Federer and his wife by the way. They are the new proud parents of twin girls! :D Yay! Go Twins!! I also wanted to have twin girls in the future, and I shall name them Colleen and Nicole. How about Emily and Emma? XD

This PC can't read my iPod anymore. I don't know why. *cries* I bought a new USB cable because the original was destroyed by Zack, our dog, who decided to play with it using his teeth. Darn it! Why do dogs have this need to chew EVERYTHING!?

I've tried troubleshooting already. Reset, reinstall, restart, update and whatnot, but my iPod only charges and it does not appear on either Windows or iTunes. F*ck! There must be something wrong with this cable.

Anyway, we watched Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince Sunday afternoon. It was okay, not my favorite HP film though. The movie was dark. And by “dark”, I meant that the sceneries were mostly DARK and GLOOMY. As in like night fall. Do they hate the sunshine or what? Just kidding.

But yes, the movie was definitely darker, in the evil sense. My biggest problem with this movie was that they kinda focused on the romance part (though I don't have any idea if the book was the same because I haven't read book 6), and not the Half-Blood Prince. Why was he called the Half-Blood Prince for Merlin's sake?!

As for the romance part, ugh, I don't really like Ron/Hermione pairing. Harry and Hermione seem to have more chemistry in the film versions than Ron and Hermione. Of course, I'd say that Harry and Luna have chemistry as well compared to Harry/Ginny. Luna was simply adorable!! And why was Ginny even kissing that guy? And am I the only who thinks that McLaggen was HOT? :D
